Faith Formulas Workshop

Class Overview
This course will consist of a practical workshop with significant student involvement. It will assist students in developing their own "Faith Formulas" within the context of their personal Christian backgrounds. It is designed to encourage students to develop life-long habits such as: daily devotions, prayer, meditation, Bible study, Christian service, giving, self-examination, corporate worship, discipleship, spiritual journaling, and other selected topics. The course will provide freedom for students to explore (individually, in groups, or as a class) these and other related topics not included in the syllabus.

Materials:

  • Journal
  • Bible
  • Prayer Book (If desired)

Course Content:
The specific content of the course will be determined by the class and by individuals within the context of their individual goals. The course will be conducted as a workshop with student participation, in and outside of the classroom, in various selected projects, such as:
  • Various means and forms of prayer
  • Meditation
  • Bible Reading and Study
  • Corporate Worship
  • Journaling
  • Christian Service Projects
The course will conclude with students developing a written "Faith Formula" for their individual faith journey for the future. They will also make an oral presentation concerning their faith experience during the class.

Grading and Evaluations:
  • Participation 10 points/ class
  • Journal 20 points/week
  • Workshop Projects 10 - 50 Points
  • Presentation 50 Points
